Holidays drive you crazy? Yeah, they drive Lewis Black crazy too.

Surviving the Holidays with Lewis Black Premieres on the History Channel November 23

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we're about a month away from Christmas — just in case you need to feel a little anxious about all the holiday preparations you haven't made yet.

If the season to be jolly drives you crazy enough to think that maybe George Bailey would've been smarter to take the plunge off that bridge, perhaps you can take some comfort in knowing you're not alone. As much as I love the holidays, I find they go down a bit easier with a healthy dose of snark to act as an antidote to the Hallmark sentiments, and I can think of no better curmudgeon to speak to my discontent than Lewis Black.

Luckily for me, and everyone else similarly afflicted, the History Channel is premiering a two-hour special on November 23 entitled Surviving the Holidays with Lewis Black. The show, which will air at 8:00 PM, features Black's advice for surviving the year-end festivities without completely losing one's mind. He's joined by a few other funny folks, including Bob Saget, Craig Ferguson, Ron White, Joy Behar, Larry Miller, Richard Belzer, and David Alan Grier, among others.

And in case you're too busy decking the halls to catch it on the 23rd, the History Channel plans on airing it a few more times:

  • Monday, November 23 08:00 PM
  • Tuesday, November 24 12:00 AM
  • Friday, November 27 08:00 PM
  • Saturday, November 28 12:00 AM
  • Sunday, November 29 03:00 PM

In the meantime, here's a little holiday cheer from the man himself:
