With the WGA strike now over, we await new episodes of House,MD, premiering April 28.

House, MD Returns With New Episodes in April

Finally some post-strike news from FOX. House, MD will be returning to the air with new episodes at the end of April!

The series, halfway into its fourth season, will premiere new episodes beginning Monday, April 28. In a new (but apparently temporary) time slot, the critically acclaimed series starring Hugh Laurie will air at 9:00 PM (ET) after Bones. Beginning February 26, House's usual Tuesday time spot will be taken (variously) by episodes of Back to You, New Amsterdam, Hells Kitchen, and ‘Till Death, all trying to take advantage of that coveted post-American Idol slot.

On Monday, April 21, House will premiere with a repeat. (My guess would be a re-airing of “Don’t Ever Change,” the last new episode to air before they ran out of pre-strike episodes.) Beginning April 28, new episodes will air at the new Monday time following new episodes of Bones. (New episodes of Bones will premiere beginning April 14.)

According to a previous FOX news release, House will begin airing reruns May 27 as the series returns to its usual Tuesday time. Doing the math, though admittedly I was never very good at it, that would mean four new episodes for us very House-hungry fans.

This news would jibe with Doris Egan’s response to a fan’s question during a question and answer session at House Fans for the WGA Live Journal. She said, “We are working very hard to produce four new episodes.” So maybe my math isn’t too bad, after all. With an actual air date in hand, we can all commence our virtual countdown clocks.

Please drop back frequently as we await season four, part deux. I have several House-related articles currently in the works, including the ongoing "Welcome to the End of the Thought Process (Unofficial) House, MD Episode Guide." Season one parts one and two are finished; season two is in progress and will be posted along with season three as time permits over the next few weeks. I am also working on an article about the House fanfiction world, so if you are a House fanfiction reader or writer, I would love to hear your thoughts via the comments section or by email.
