Police are treating it as a homicide

Curious George Collaborator Killed

What a curious, terrible way to go.

The bloody body of Alan Shalleck, 76, was found covered by trash bags Tuesday. Police said the body had been there at least one day.

The police are treating it as a homicide.

While not the original author of the series which was popular with so many children – including this author – Shalleck wrote more and directed more than 100 short episodes about the monkey.

He also wrote at least a dozen books about the curious creature.

The death barely precedes Friday’s release of a full-length movie about Curious George.
