One Battle After Another is the next film from writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson about revolutionaries. Stars Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Leo DiCaprio were on hand to talk about it. It’s an epic movie of scope and scale, yet PTA was open to improv by the cast. They explained Hall’s character has heart, and Taylor’s selfish character is the catalyst. An extended sneak peek showed Leo’s character on the phone unable to get information because he has forgotten the password. Set for September. Will playing in VistaVision is some theaters.
The Bride! director Maggie Gyllenhaal said she saw a guy’s tattoo at a party and went to watch the movie, and it inspired her to create something pop and big and radical. Jesse Buckley is the Bride to Christian Bale’s monster. Gyllenhaal compared it to classics like Bonnie and Clyde, and Wild at Heart. She found times for film to expand the image vertically for IMAX when going inside the main duo’s minds. Set for March 2026, looks like a crime drama / horror
From New Line has a couple of offerings. Final Destination: Bloodlines presented a wild sequence as two brothers think they have thwarted Death by either killing someone in their place or resuscitation, so going in to a hospital, one brother thinks he can kill the other briefly and be revived. No surprise, it wasn’t well thought. An inventive and wild scene. Weapons triple threat Zach Creggar promised a twisty, turny story. The teaser shows that one day at school, all the students of Mrs. Gandy’s class left in the middle of the night. Looks creepy and audiences will find out how much on August 8.
Top Gun: Maverick producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Joseph Kosinski presentedthe first 10 minutes of racing movie F1, which was shot during actual Grand Prix races. Brad Pitt is at Daytona, almost midnight. He’s a great racer, but a gun for hire, always on the move. He only wants the check he’s owed. Not interested in the trophy or watch. Javier Bardem is his friend and runs a racing team. He has nine races left in the season and if the team fails, Javier will lose the team to the board. Good racing footage on display.
In February 2026, WB Pictures Animation is The Cat in the Hat voiced by Bill Hader, who on hand. The film expands the story beyond the book and opens up the Suessaverse, which the studio hopes will be another successful franchise. Hader explained his process in performing the role was roll out of bed, get in car, and drive to Warner Brothers. A work-in-progress trailer was shown.
A teaser featured Bad Fairies; Margie Claus, the first animated film for Melissa McCarthy; Meet the Flintstones based on the classic TV series; and Oh the Places You’ll Go! from director Jon M. Chu.
DC Studios James Gunn and Peter Sarafan were on hand as well as actors from the new Superman movie, David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. Gunn says in 2018 he was offered Superman, and the idea hit him like a burst. He wanted Superman utterly human and utterly fantastic. Rachel said there is something in these stories for everyone, such as the power of hope. Gunn wants a movie that celebrates kindness and human love. This world exclusive sneak peek shows comic relief from Krypto. The Fortress of Solitude is big and expansive. From the bit we saw, the film looks epic.
