Virginal Love

Courtney about the sign with Virgin. I hear she’s signing with Virgin because there is no label called “Drug Slut” (just kdding Court, we love ya):

The rocker is in advanced negotiations to sign with Virgin Records, sources said. If the deal is closed, Virgin will release “America’s Sweetheart,” Love’s first solo album since her former group Hole’s disbandment. Sources said the new album includes numerous songs Love co-wrote with 4 Non Blondes’ Linda Perry, who also has collaborated with Pink.

….The artist was scheduled to play the U.K.’s Reading and Leeds festivals in August but has canceled those plans in favor of work on the new album. [Hollywood Reporter]

For all the weird shit she pulls, her erratic behavior and issues with substance abuse, Courtney is a very fine actress, and I liked the last two Hole albums quite a bit. She has real talent – for a drug slut.

'War in Heaven' is a heavy-duty album, especially for fans of metal. Original melodies, pulsing with energy and vibrating rhythms, are anything but derivative. Henry Metal’s voice retains a presumptuous vitality that works well, and his talent on the axe is superb – great shredding and ascendant riffs.
