The solid (3-star) sci-fi action-adventure 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' features impressive filmmaking with an epic plot full of emotion, thrills, some surprises, and strong characters including the returning Dr. Ian Malcolm who helps audiences understand the “big picture” implications of creating these actual dinosaurs using genetic technologies.

Director Gareth Edwards promised attendees at his SXSW keynote address that he would answer the question, “How the heck do you become a filmmaker?” It all started, he explained, when his parents took him to “an obscure art film” called 'Star Wars'. He immediately wanted to grow up to join the rebel alliance and destroy the death star. He shared the disappointment he felt when he was told he couldn’t do this because it was “only a movie”.

Charming enough to keep the target audience satisfied as it is dazzled by the array of visual delights and scary characters chasing after our rather dynamic duo.

'Jurassic World' is one of the best Blu-rays of the year, making good on its theatrical run with another fantastic 'Jurassic' addition to our home video libraries.

Originally produced for the BBC, theatrical directors Barry Cook and Neil Nightingale and screenwriter John Collee, have completely downgraded the original series’ successful blend of documentary filmmaking and computer-generated dino goodness.

They spared no expense.

We are not yet convinced.
