Check out the pretty new pictures for this WWII dogfight game.

Screenshots: Heroes over Europe

Heroes over Europe, the sequel to Heroes of the Pacific, hasn't enjoyed the easiest birthing process.  Initially due out in the Fall of 2008, the game was pushed back, dropped by one publisher (Red Mile Entertainment) who had already brought in a second publisher (Atari) to help them, and eventually picked up by a third publisher (Ubisoft).  However, according to an Ubisoft press release today, all systems still appear go for a September 2009 takeoff.

Airplane dogfight games are a well-worn genre, so only time will tell if HOE adds something worthwhile to the field, but the newly available screenshots do appear pretty impressive.

Will HOE be worth the wait? Stay tuned, Blogcritics Gaming is here to tell you all about it.
