Election 2016 may go down as the Year of the Tweet, as the miniature messages have become a weapon of choice for all the candidates running for president. If you'd like to get into live tweeting, here are my techniques for setting yourself up, what software to use, and how to be a more effective Twitter communicator.

Donald Trump has lost touch with his inner self. He has what Parker J. Palmer refers to as “the empty-self syndrome.” This empty self is constantly and chronically hungry but the host lacks utter awareness of his own hunger. This is what makes Trump, and so many other bullies utterly dangerous.

August 13, 2016 will be the 35th anniversary of the largest tax cut in American history: The Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981. This law is generally credited with beginning the economic boom which carried through the 1990s. Why should we take note of this? Because in an election year, economic theory, history, and promises get thrown about like fish at Seattle’s Pike Place Fish Market. Watch out for fishy facts.

Donald Trump is a confidence man; he has been able to con himself to the top of the financial world. He has associated with the underworld, benefited and survived. He has pulled the wig over the eyes of the world’s greatest charlatans; left them broke and broken while he celebrated the art of the deals. But the thrill in outwitting other gamers is gone for Trump. Trump has reached the point in his career as a huckster where he thinks he can carry out the ultimate scam.

The Founding Fathers were oddly prescient at times. If you think about the system that led Donald Trump to the threshold of the most powerful position in the world, and the corruption that has elevated Hillary Clinton to her party's nomination, you have to wonder if they weren't psychic. Because if we don't do something to resolve this national horror, America will lose everything – including itself.

I know it will never stop because social media is a monster that keeps feeding upon itself.

To paraphrase an old campaign slogan of that other famous Clinton: "It's credibility, stupid."

Mr. President— You may never read this. I’d be willing to bet that you’ll never see any of this letter, isolated as you are in the gilded cage that is the Oval Office. But perhaps, just perhaps, you might, and on the off-chance you do I cannot be more blunt …

Many political events, TV channels, and magazines claim to be non-partisan and “fair,” but few achieve it or even mean it. Politicon, billing itself as the unconventional political convention, actually means it and achieves it. The result is a stimulating and entertaining event for political junkies.

The flag – patriotic symbol that it is – should be an equal opportunity for all Americans to show their love of country.
