How's this for a way to assuage your guilt about mis-celebrating Presidents Day?

Blogcritics’ American Experience Presidents Giveaway

Presidents Day — time for a one-day sale, a day off of school, maybe even some curling. You know what people don't think of on Presidents  Day? Presidents. Here we are, allegedly celebrating Washington and Lincoln and all that seems to matter is just how big the sale is. That doesn't feel right, does it?

Well, Blogcritics has the perfect way for you to assuage your guilt (and we do believe you to feel guilty). We're running a brand new contest where we'll be giving away to one lucky winner the 15 disc American Experience: The Presidents Collection. The way we see it, just your entering the contest ought to count as thinking about something related to the presidents on Presidents Day. Plus, by entering the contest you actually have a chance to win (you can't win if you don't play) and winning would be pretty fantastic.

Included in the set are episodes on Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Harry Truman, The Kennedys, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush. Yes, it's a 20th Century Presidents pack, but we still think it counts as your celebrating the holiday appropriately. And heck, if the very idea of the show sounds good to you, you might want to consider signing up for the American Experience newsletter.

As for the contest rules (these plus the ones on the entry page):

  • Fill out the entry form.
  • Entries must be received by February 28, 2010.
  • The winners will be drawn on or after March 1, 2010.
  • The winners will be notified by e-mail and in the comments section below.
  • You must be a U.S. resident to enter and over the age of 18.
  • Please read our privacy policy.
