The first episode in this series has its share of problems, but the story and design more than justify checking out the game.

The art, animations, and sound capture the manga and anime series’s spirit perfectly. Unfortunately, despite a lot of content, it's just not that great of a fighting game.

Surprisingly, 'Episode 6: A Portal to Mystery' actually improves upon the last chapter's formula, and from beginning to end, is a fun little riff on a Scooby Doo adventure, that also borrows a little from the classic Clue movie.

The core of the idea in "7 Days to Die" is good, but the execution leaves something to be desired. It is a title where greatness always feels as though it is just around the corner but never arrives.

It’s hard to be excited about 'Fallout 4: Contraptions Workshop,' considering that my biggest complaint with the main game is its sparse narrative, and how great the last DLC, Far Harbor was. That being said, if you're looking for new toys for your sandbox, this one does does add quite a few.

Driving games have been around in one form or another at least since Commodore 64 days. What always annoyed me about them was their lack of reality. I knew how to drive. Yet, every time I picked up a joystick to try out Gran Turismo, Le Mans or Indy whatever, I’d inevitably crash.

'Dead Island' is still a fun game of zombie mayhem and the new Definitive Edition certainly looks good, but the upgrade is only skin deep.

E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, invaded the Los Angeles Convention Center and environs from June 12-16, and left craziness and delight in its wake. I’ve never been a great fan of the shoot’em up games, so I searched the humongous displays in the Los Angeles Convention Center for build’em ups. I found two: a relative newcomer, 'Farming Simulator', and the newest iteration of a classic, 'Sid Meier's Civilization'.

'Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst' offers significantly more gameplay, but at a cost, and is unlikely to inspire the same passion as the original game.
