Wanted: Romantic Guitar Player

Well, sort of. The band Matchbook Romance is looking for a guitarist, but dude, you have to go to Poughkeepsie, NY. Remember the classic line from The French Connection? “Did you ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie?”

The scoop:

Epitaph’s breakout band MATCHBOOK ROMANCE is seeking a new guitar player for their next album. The Poughkeepsie, NY based quartet (vocalist, guitarist Andrew Jordan, bassist Ryan Kienle, guitarist Ryan DePaulo and drummer Aaron Stern) who are currently on the road this summer as part of the Vans Warped Tour Tenth Anniversary, will take a month off after the tour concludes to write new material and audition guitarists. MBR will then head back out on tour for a month-long trek with Taking Back Sunday followed by a co-headlining tour with Midtown.

All guitar players interested in auditioning for MATCHBOOK ROMANCE should be experienced and able to sing and carry harmonies. Playing keyboard is also a plus. Also note that MATCHBOOK ROMANCE is based in Poughkeepsie, NY. Serious inquiries should be directed to [email protected].

Stories and Alibis is approaching sales of 100,000, and the band will appear on MTV’s Advance Warning, as well as on Fuse’s Daily Download, where they will perform an acoustic song from their upcoming split EP with Motion City Soundtrack due out on September 7.

So it may be worth the trip to Poughkeepsie, guitarists.
