Norton Antivirus 2007 is a popular antivirus software program manufactured by Symantec. The Norton name cames from Peter Norton, a software designer whose company was purchased by Symantec in 1990.
The program is sold as a standalone product for both personal users and corporations. The personal version is also included in two software suites, Norton Internet Security and Norton 360. It comes in both Windows and Mac versions.
Norton AntiVirus does not just deal with computer viruses. It can also be used to protect against spyware and adware. Although Norton Antivirus 2007 is not the most recent or current version of the software, the program uses Symantec's LiveUpdate to provides both program and virus definition updates. A subscription is required, however, to obtain virus definition updates.
