Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan is one of the most celebrated superstars in the history of professional wrestling. During the peak period of his popularity in the eighties and nineties, Hogan is also credited with taking the spectacle of pro-wrestling to the sold-out arenas and mainstream recognition it continues to enjoy today.

During his tenure in both the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Hogan captured twelve world championships, and transformed wrestling into a cultural phenomenon. He appeared in movies like Rocky III with Sylvester Stallone, and helped make Wrestlemania the marquee event that it still is today.

There was also controversy when allegations of steroid abuse were leveled (even as the Hulkster urged his Hulkamaniacs to say your prayers and eat your vitamins).

More recently, Hogan starred in his own TV reality show, Hogan Knows Best, which focused on his family life with wife Linda, daughter Brooke, and son Nick. In the aftermath of the show, Hogan then endured scandal in the form of a pricey divorce, allegations of infidelity, and son Nick making headlines after an automobile accident which left a family friend and Iraqi war veteran crippled with brain damage. Hogan also stirred controversy with comments made in a Rolling Stone interview where he stated "he totally understands O.J.".

Hogan's popularity in the blogosphere is equally divided between celebrity justice blogs and fansites like Hulkamania.
