We start out this third and final part of book two with Father Abbot Markwart holding what is left of the Chilicunck family, as well as the centaur Bradwarden, locked in the dungeon of St. Mere-Abelle. He continues to have them tortured in an effort to gain more information about the location of Jillseponie and the magical stones that she was give by Brother Avelyn.
Connor Bildebrough, Pony's former husband who caught up with the group at the end of part II, is able to make peace with Pony and then explains to Elbryan, Pony, and Roger Lockless that the Father Abbot has captured the centaur and the Chilicunck family and is holding them captive in the Abby. This outrages Pony.
Once again I was treated to a Graphic Audio performance that really brings you into the story. The combination of sound effects and artistic vocal performances creates what Graphic Audio calls a “Movie in your Mind” and that is truly what The DemonWars Saga: The Demon Spirit – Part III is.
When they find out that there are two Brother Justice's after Pony and the magical stones, the group decides that they need to be in control of the situation and they decide to bring the fight to the brothers. They set up a trap and are able to outsmart the brothers. One is killed and one is captured.
Knowing that these are the same two brothers who killed Abbot Dobrinion, the group determines that Conner and Roger will take Brother Youseff back to St Precious, back to Conner's uncle, the Baron, to face his crimes. When things suddenly go wrong, Roger finds himself having to use his wits to outsmart the stronger monk.
After relegating himself to his studies, Brother Jojonah has discovered a hidden secret in the forbidden books at St. Mere-Abelle. It is one so profound that he understands that this is not the time to reveal it because it will just be suppressed. But he does provide Brother Braumin with the location of the document for when the time is right.
After disobeying the Father Abbot, Brother Jojonah is reassigned to Saint Precious as an underling of Brother De'Unnero. On their way to the Abby, they meet Pony and Elbryan who are saving a group of travelers from a band of goblins. Brother Jojonah is immediately taken with Pony and Elbryan as he helps them by healing some of the wounded travelers with his magical stones.
In this final part of The DemonWars Saga: The Demon Spirit the questions become, will Pony, Elbryan, and Juraviel be able to enter St.Mere-Abelle and rescue Bradwarden and the Chilicunck's? Who will help them? Will Brother Jojonah be able to continue to fight to clear the name of Brother Avelyn? Will Father Abbot Markwart continue to have his way in his fight to retrieve the stones and continue to tarnish Avelyn Despris?
The quality of the story and performance are what keep me coming back to Graphic Audio products. By using a whole cast; over 20 performers, you don't get one person trying to sound like many different voices, you get unique individual characters. It is this that makes it great.
