Jessamyn West

Jessamyn West (1968- ) is a librarian, blogger, and community technology consultant. She writes and speaks often on Library 2.0 and library-technology issues, library-user services, and the needs of rural libraries.

West has been and continues to be a leader in advocating for technology in libraries. In 1999, she was one of few librarians using blogs as a tool for professional communication, and in 2002, she was named a "Mover & Shaker" by Library Journal. Currently, she is most often found answering questions posted in Ask MetaFilter, a subsection of the collaborative blog MetaFilter.

Jessamyn West (1902-1984) was an American writer. Most of her publications focused on mother-daughter relationships and the Quakers in Indiana.
