sonywx1

Sony’s WX1 is a cyber-shot digital camera which includes such cool features as the ability to snap off 10 pictures per second, at up to 10.2 megapixel resolution through the mechanical shutter. Other features which make the WX1 stand out include a sweep panorama mode, which allows for expansive, panoramic views of things like a landscape, a mountain range, or even a sunset.

The Sony WX1 also delivers amazing low-light pictures without a flash using the back-illuminated “Exmor R” CMOS sensor, and increases sensitivity by 2x to reduce noise. Other notable features of the WX1 include a 24mm wide angle lens, the ability to shoot HD video (up to 29 min. — or up to 2GB per movie — in 720p format), and iAutoMode which automatically adjusts for clarity and lighting conditions.

To promote the WX1, Sony is joining forces with WeSay.com for a contest where 10 “bloggers with a passion for photography” will be given a camera and asked to review and upload a panoramic photo to the site. WeSay Viewers will then get to vote on their favorite photo. The winner gets to choose a school of their choice as the recipient for 10 additional cameras.

You’ll find bloggers talking up the Sony WX1 at sites like CNet and TechRadar.
