The 2011 lineup has been announced for the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, GA with more than 100 scheduled productions to run from March 24 through April 9.

The 2011 SMF will feature performers in a wide range of musical styles and influences including classical, jazz, blues, folk, Americana, Zydeco, and traditional musics from around the world.  Among the spring festival highlights are scheduled performances from newcomers Sharon Jones & Dap Kings, who will perform on the first night of the festival.

Other artists who make their way to the different stages hosting performances include Chicago blues harmonica legend James Cotton and fellow harp maestro Jerry Portnoy, both former sidemen to the great Muddy Waters and Portnoy was also part of Eric Clapton’s All-Star Band.  The 75-year old Cotton is a Grammy-winning artist and is up for several Blues Music Awards this year related to his latest record Giant, which has been a commercial hit with blues listeners as well.
