PlayStation Network Update: 09/10/2009

Now this is what I am talking about! Finally a thoroughly great update to the PlayStation Store.  To start off with there is a Lemmings update which adds trophies and rumble support. We also have price drop on the Unbound Saga and Novastrike. Novastrike in particular is a fun, somewhat unique shooter and well worth the $5 asking price.

We have two more GREAT PSOne classics this week as well. Tomb Raider III is a good game, but Final Fantasy Tactics is an amazing one! The original is incredibly tough to find (not the redone ones on other platforms) and it is great to see it on the PlayStation store.

There are also two new games on display this week, Interpol: The Trail Of Dr. Chaos and Switchball. Both are $10, but completely different games. Demos would be nice, but failing that reviews will help you decide if the games are for you.

It seems to be sports week on the demo front with FIFA Soccer 10 and NBA Live 10 on offer for your gaming pleasure. We also have a really nice freebie for the amazing Batman Arkham Asylum in the form of the Insane Night Challenge Map Pack. This adds two new challenge rooms to the game and in the case of the PS3 version you can play as Bats or the Joker!

We have the requisite Rock Band/Guitar Hero songs, a few game videos, and some overpriced themes to sneer at. Thankfully there are a couple of free themes as well, so we can customize our XMB with no monetary transactions required. There is also a new PSP game called State Shift available for download. This is a  sci-fi racing game that looks very interesting.
