Nirvana’s Landmark ’92 Reading Performance To Be Relased On CD/DVD

One of the defining moments of the Nirvana legacy is finally getting an official release in November when the band's classic performance at the Reading Festival in the U.K. is issued on CD and DVD.

The set is being released as a CD/DVD package as well as both being sold separately on November 2.

Live at Reading is taken from the band's August 30, 1992 performance, roughly one year after the release of their classic Nevermind.  It was during the band's tour of Europe that Nevermind and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" shot to the top of the charts and ushered in a new era in music, making Kurt Cobain an icon.

Nirvana's ascent, dominance, and implosion is still one of rock's most improbable timelines.  They released Nevermind in September 1991.  It takes almost a year for the album to gain momentum.  They release their follow-up In Utero in September of 1993.   April 1994, Kurt Cobain dies from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Nirvana went from obscure Pacific Northwest band to worldwide superstardom to past tense in less time than it takes a child to enter high school and leave with a diploma.
