I hope you're all enjoying the challenge of the Blogcritics House, M.D. Trivia Contest. I know the questions are tough, but there's nothing lost by entering, even if you don't know all the answers. There are still five days to enter. Ten lucky (and very House-knowledgeable people) will win a licensed House, M.D. T-shirt from T-Line Design and NBC/Universal.

On August 25, NBC/Universal releases House, M.D. season five on DVD, just in time to review season five, commercial free while anticipating the start of season six and the two-part premiere on September 21.

In additional to all 24 season five episodes, the new DVD set features lots of extras, including:  "House Meets a Milestone: The 100th Episode," "'Locked In' Commentary with Writer/Producer David Foster and Writers/Executive Producers Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner," "Keeping It Real: Accuracy in Writing," "Dr. Mom: Cuddy's Storyline," "Anatomy of a Teaser," and "House Guests: Casting the Show."

To celebrate the DVD release, Blogcritics is giving away one copy of the season five DVD set (courtesy of NBC/Universal). All you have to do is click the link and fill in the form. No impossible trivia questions; no thinking at all. The lucky winner will be chosen by random drawing of all entries received by 11:59 p.m. August 30.

On Thursday, August 20, I'll be interviewing Jeremy Cassels, the House, M.D. production designer. He is the one responsible for the look and feel of the series: the sets, props, costumes. I'll be asking him about the show's unique look, House's museum-like apartment, the hospital sets and House's toys (among other things). And I'll try to get in a question or five about the upcoming season premiere, as it takes House out of his usual environment and into Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital. So be sure to check back over the weekend for my interview with Jeremy.

In the meantime, enjoy the trivia quiz and be sure to enter the DVD Giveaway. Here are the rules:

  • Fill out the entry form.
  • Entries must be received by August 30, 2009.
  • The winners will be drawn on or after August 31, 2009.
  • The winners will be notified by e-mail and in the comments section below.
  • You must be a U.S. resident to enter and over the age of 18. (Apologies to all my non-U.S. readers!)

Please read our privacy policy.

Good luck!

Whatever happened to the interview? Is it delayed in posting until closer to Season 6 premiere?

    Thanks for ALL you do!

  • Barbara S Barnett

Cassells interview was great. Lots of good stuff.

I probably won’t write an addendum per se about House and Love, at least not yet.

    Hello Barbara,

I’m interested in Jeremy Cassels’ vision of how he imagines Wilson’s place would look. In season 5, Wilson’s living in Amber’s apartment – it’s possible that out of love and respect, he hasn’t changed much about it. If that’s the case, it doesn’t really give us as much insight into him as his own place would do.

Secondly, now that season five is over, will there be a postscript to your House In Love article as it relates to Cuddy? I’m eager to know your thoughts.

I can’t get it out of my head that the writers will give Cuddy A.N.Other love interest in an attempt to cool things down in season 6.

I’m flashing back to Moonlighting and Mark Harmon as astronaut Sam post-David and Maddy ‘doing it’ – big mistake. Hope House’s writers learn from Moonlighting in every way…

No need for phone number. You should be fine

  • Amanda

You know, the instructions to the form say to provide your phone number, but there’s no blank that calls for that.

xinyuActor – I agree about it being sad not to live in the US as a House fan – I’m just hoping they will fasttrack House this season, as they did with 24 last year, so we’re only a week behind the US (although then comes the tough decision – wait for the episode, or watch anyway so that I can join in with the great discussion on here…)

Aaaanyway, I got sidetracked! Barbara, I’m sure you will have plenty to ask him that is much better, but I’m interested in the design of the hospital; are there any rooms that he’d like to redesign if he had the chance, and also, can we expect anymore balconies to suddenly appear?!?

Looking forward to reading the interview when it’s done!

xinyuActor–so nice to hear from you on the other side of the planet. Good questions and I’ll try to get them in!

  • xinyuActor

Hey Orange I totally with you! Love listening and playing those beautiful House piano songs. 🙂

Also I have a couple of other questions to ask-

-House have used a lot kind of cane, it was just because of the character or have some other reasons? Any backstories?
-Will House’s motor be back in next season?

not living in US is sort of sad to a House fan. :_(

    Greetings from China

August 20th is a VERY auspicious day 🙂 You couldn’t have picked a better one for the interview!

I’m taking a break from writing the table cards to ask you (not that you need reminding) to please ask about House’s piano, i.e., if there’s a backstory of how/when/where he got it.

Also, given the way we see him live his life, plus what we gather about how he lives it from his closest friends (i.e., card games, monster trucks, all the TV, doesn’t take vacations, etc.) when/how/where did he acquire all the significant art, the interesting furniture, etc.

    Enquiring minds want to know!

  • Barbara S Barnett

I will do waht I can, Clara! Certainment!

    Thank you very much Barbara
from a French House MD fan for your questions with Jeremy about the
    season premiere !
Please could you also get a little
information about Huddy in the season 6 ?
    Merci depuis Paris !
