Willie-Ani Campaign Show For Dennis Postponed

Remember all that cool news I mentioned about the Willie Nelson-Ani DiFRanco concert to benefit Dennis Kucinich’s presidential campaign scheduled for September 6 in Cleveland? It was all a lie:

    Concerts Being Rescheduled

In order to better fit the Kucinich campaign’s schedule, the Willie Nelson concerts set for in September are being rescheduled for later in the fall. That will put them closer to the start of the primaries, and allow the campaign to make better use of the concerts’ momentum.

The Cleveland concert scheduled for Sept 6 was to be the first time singer/songwriter Ani DiFranco and Willie Nelson would be on the same bill. New plans will be announced as soon as they are worked out.

Willie Nelson endorses Kucinich for President “because he stands up for heartland Americans who are too often overlooked and unheard” and because he is “a man of his word.” Willie and Kucinich plan to meet again in Dubuque, Iowa, this Saturday — where Willie is performing and Kucinich is campaigning.

Other musical artists are supporting the Kucinich campaign. At a recent rally in Southern California, Michelle Shocked performed.

And we are also reminded that

Dennis Kucinich is tonight’s guest on the “Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” one of the few TV programs that is as skeptical of Bush administration claims as is Kucinich. The “Daily Show” airs on Comedy Central, 11pm (10pm C).
