url

URL is a popular tag because it is essential to finding information on the internet.  It stands for "Uniform Resource Locator." A URL is a two-part address for material on the internet, whether it be a web page, a document, a picture or a file.

The first part of a URL indicates the type of format used at the web location, such as http ("hyper text transfer protocol") or ftp ("file transfer protocol"), for example. The second part specifies the domain name or IP address of the site or particular material. The two parts are separated by a colon and two forward slashes.  Thus, the URL for Technorati is for Blogcritics it is https://blogcritics.org/.
