Umphrey’s McGee is Doing O.K.

Things keep getting better and better in 2005 for jam band Umphrey’s McGee as they continue to get recognition for their hard work. The Chicago Music Awards named them the “Best Rock Entertainer of the Year.” Also, the Jammys, an award that recognizes the best in live music performance, has nominated Umphrey’s in three categories: “Best Album” for Anchor Drops, “Best Song” for “In The Kitchen,” and “Best Live Performance” (with moe.) Bonnaroo Music Festival, 6/11/04. The results will be announced on April 26 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, NYC. During the festivities, which are produced by Relix Magazine, and Peter Shapiro, Umphrey’s will be performing and they will also host a late night show at B.B. Kings.

During February, Umphrey’s was in the studio working on their fifth studio album with Kevin Browning, who exclusively handles Umphrey’s sound at live shows and for all released recordings. The new release is scheduled for release in early 2006
