Dawn Olsen doesn’t recognize anyone nominated for the Weblog Awards other than Michele and us, and she questions their selection methods. She proposes a transparent straight voting system and is looking for your help.
My view of the situation is that the massive blog community – now somewhere between 500K and 1M people – is still very sociologically divided, and that unless any given awards system represents a circle in which you roam, you aren’t going to recognize a lot of names and the system will feel unrepresentative to you.
I don’t recognize a lot of names on the list either, but I am still very happy to see ours – how’s that for diplomacy?
