Roseanne – Season One will be available on DVD by Anchor Entertainment and Carsey Werner August 30. The four-disc set will feature all twenty-three episodes from its first season, as well as the series pilot.
Bonus features include an all-new interview with Roseanne, a reflective interview with John Goodman, Season One bloopers and highlights, and “Wisdom from a Domestic Goddess” (witty one liners from the show).
Roseanne created the character and series with the biting sense of humor that was already well-known from her stand-up comedy routines. When the series premiered in 1988, it rose straight to the top as an honest look at a working class family.
The series was also known for tackling issues once considered taboo on network television – poverty, homosexuality and alcoholism just to name a few. It was groundbreaking and remained a top rated series for the eleven years that it ran for.
