Rick Springfield Returns to General Hospital

Brian Frons, president of ABC Daytime, announced yesterday that award-winning actor and singer, Rick Springfield, will return to General Hospital to reprise the role of Dr. Noah Drake in a four episode arc this December. Springfield first stepped into the role 25 years ago.

Springfield left the show in 1983 to focus on his recording career. In the years since he has released several albums and pursued other television acting roles, but the character has been enduring to the fans of the soap.

Thirty, forty times a day I must get questions when I’m on the road about General Hospital or Noah Drake. It’s constant. It amazes me that it’s still so prevalent in the fans’ minds. (Soap Opera Digest)

Dr. Drake will return to Port Charles to consult with Dr. Robin Scorpio on Jason Morgan’s life-threatening seizures. Springfield commented, “I guess there was a reason why they didn’t kill Noah off in the ’80’s. This should be fun. I’m looking forward to it.” The episodes will air December 2, 5, 6 and 7th.

Springfield will return to the road in support of his current release, The Day After Yesterday in December. CORRECTIONS:LM
