It’s a USB Memory stick preloaded with Barenaked Ladies goodies.
Barenaked on a Stick features the entire Barenaked for the Holidays album as well as some live performance clips, some video clips, and some priceless improv clips taken from various recent BNL shows (BNL fans will understand the value of the improv clips even if you, the gift giver, do not).
The Barenaked for the Holidays album was released last year and is still available on CD. Fans will no doubt appreciate the unique approach to holiday music. Where some bands might do one Hanukah song on a holiday collection as a clever marketing ploy, Barenaked Ladies include multiple songs aimed at celebrators of Hanukah worldwide. There are classic Christmas songs. There are songs penned by the band. There are also oddball selections (McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” and Band-Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”). If it all seems a bit absurd, it is. Barenaked Ladies fans would not want it any other way because few bands can make the absurd make sense the way these guys can. Besides, who really needs another bad pop star’s attempt at reinterpreting songs we all know by heart? The Christmas/Hanukah/Holiday season is supposed to be joyous and fun. Barenaked for the Holidays is.
Your BNL fan might already have it in his or her collection but the improv clips, live cuts, and other promo items are not available elsewhere. Plus, the 128 MB USB memory stick is reusable. Barenaked on a Stick also has a coolness factor going for it. I got to try one out on a PC and a Mac and found the device very easy to use.
