Santa has plenty of PSP game titles this holiday season filled with action and unique platformers.

This handheld console has plenty of game titles this holiday season (all release dates subject to change).

The multi-console release of the compilation action title Spider-Man: Friend or Foe features one of many movie/TV adaptation titles. The blockbuster Spider-Man 3 gets the video game treatment on October 30 as do other potential cinema sensations like Beowulf (Nov. 13) and Golden Compass (Dec. 4)

The Simpsons continue to expand beyond the television series with The Simpsons Game on November 6. Napoleon Dynamite (Oct. 19) has dance moves and other mini games while Jackass: The Game (Oct. 9) has more high stunt hijinks plus unlockable video. On October 30, The Office jumps from the television set to the PSP with two more installments planned for future release.

Encounter Han Solo and eccentric crews on secret missions for Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (Oct. 9). Familiar face Crash Bandicoot returns with body controlling “jacking” abilities in Crash of the Titans on October 2. The recognizable Castlevania series continues with Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles on October 23.

NBA LIVE 08 and NBA 08 fight for basketball supremacy on the courts, both touting new international play. FIFA Soccer 08 features international stars like Ronaldinho while WWE SmackDown! Vs. Raw 2008 (Nov. 19) lets you live the life of a Superstar.

Sonic Rivals 2 (Nov. 13) and DT Racer (Nov. 2) have plenty of fast paced fun with plenty of options and upgrades. Other racing titles include the off road MX vs. ATV Untamed (Dec. 17) and the gang themed Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice. SEGA Rally Revo (Oct. 9) features expanded multiplayer game sharing with more than 30 cars and 16 race tracks while FlatOut: Head On has three different game modes and online game play.

The puzzler Hot Pixel features fast paced single and collaborative play with more than 100 mini-games in a retro graphic look, plus even several more downloadable mini-games. Check out Luxor: Pharaoh’s Challenge and the Atari Classic compilation title, both releasing November 13, for even more retro gaming. Action puzzler Dead Head Fred has dark and dingy themes including a trophy head room and mutations in this action packed puzzler.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (Nov. 13) expands multiplayer and online game play during World War II. Shooter fans can also find the familiar military action series Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow, which follows the story of technology theft. SWAT: Target Liberty (Oct. 16) puts an eclectic team of talented police officers into tough urban situations.

The expansion pack Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops + (Nov. 13) expands the online capabilities while including a new single player mode. Other action RPG/strategy titles include Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (Oct. 9), Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness (Oct. 30), Warhammer 40,000: Squad Commander (Nov. 13) and Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion (Dec. 3).

Poker fans can enjoy World Series of Poker 2008 on October 9. Simulation fans get the amusement park builder Thrillville (Oct. 16) and the island survival themed Sims 2: Castaway (Nov. 6). The humorous Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (Nov. 13) features an interactive story while players can brush up on their chess skills with Chessmaster: The Art of Learning (Nov. 6).

The action continues with Godzilla: Unleashed on November 13 and SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals Tactical Strike on November 6. Warriors of the Lost Empire (Oct. 23) challenges players to rise up and restore the kingdom’s glory. Ben 10: Protector of Earth (Oct. 30) features a young hero while Aliens Vs. Predator (Nov. 20) puts players on the Predator side fighting waves of Aliens while following a specific honor point system.

High profile mature action titles include Silent Hill Origins (Nov. 6) and the controversial Manhunt 2 (Oct. 31) pitting players in kill or be killed situations.
