New Software Spotlight: Adobe Post

Adobe has just released a new iPhone app that will let you create and share graphic-based posts for your social media sites. With Adobe Post you will be able to take a photo and mix it with text and color to quickly and easily generate eye-catching visuals that you can send to email, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, or Instagram.

Adobe Post contains pre-loaded templates, images, text, and design filters to enable you to create posts that look like they came from a magazine or an ad. Much like Adobe Voice and Adobe Slate, Adobe Post gives you tools to take the story you want to tell and put it online.

While Adobe Post is targeted at professionals who want to get their point out quickly and professionally, it is also for the casual user without a lot of experience who wants to create posts of the same level of excellence.

When you launch Adobe Post, a screen comes up with many basic templates categorized into types such as seasonal, craft, business, and travel. You can remix a post using a template or you can start off with your own photo uploaded from your camera, Creative Cloud libraries, or Lightroom, or by searching for free photos.

Once you select your method, you can add text to your image and change the font, shape of the area, color, alignment, opacity, and spacing. From there you can customize your post using color schemes based on the color extracted from your background images and can use other adornments to enhance your image.

Adobe Post can be used for a wide range of creative endeavors including general posts, blogs, banners, graphics for emails, publications, covers for CDs, graphics for business and much more.

I found Adobe Post to be very intuitive and easy to use right from the install. It is all straightforward, without a lot of need for help to get started. The best thing is that it’s free to download if you have an Adobe ID and iTunes. So I can very highly recommend this application.
