On December 9 and 10, Blink 182 and Green Day headline Live 105's Not So Silent Night at Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Live 105’s Not So Silent Night Concert Event One Week Away

Live 105's Not So Silent Night 2016The San Francisco Bay Area’s Live 105.3 has hosted special concert events for as long as the rock music radio station has been on air. Next week, the tradition continues as Live 105 presents its annual winter indie music showcase Not So Silent Night at Oracle Arena over two nights on December 9-10 in Oakland, California.

Surprisingly, tickets to Friday’s Night One are still available (as of December 1). blink-182 (minus Tom DeLonge) headlines the first night, along with electronic duo Empire of the Sun, 1990s alternative rock legends Jimmy Eat World, English indie rock quartet Glass Animals (“Gooey” was a big hit), Los Angeles duo Capital Cities, and “small town Canadians” The Strumbellas.

Unfortunately, Night Two is sold-out; and late aspiring concertgoers need to search for available tickets on Craigslist and StubHub, or get lucky in one of the few remaining giveaways to secure a spot.

Green Day headlines NSSN’s final night, as the punk rock legends continue to promote its most recent album Revolution Radio. Despite growing up in Berkeley, this writer has regretfully never seen Green Day live (I hope to change that).

Also performing Saturday night are British indie pop band Bastille, Seattle indie folk band The Head and the Heart (please listen to “All We Ever Knew”), electronic duo Phantogram, Catfish and the Bottleman, and female hip-hop artist K-FLAY.

Not So Silent Night is an all-ages event. Doors open at 5:00 PM each night. The music officially starts at 6:00 PM (though subject to change). The music ends approximately before midnight, so please leave well before if travelling by Bay Area Rapid Transit as the Coliseum BART Station at 12 AM.
