As she would have been even if she shouldn't have been. What are they going to do, dump their biggest star and the symbol of the show?

Kelly Absolved

Fox says Kelly still rules:

American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson is receiving support from the Fox Television Network in the wake of allegations in a tabloid report claiming that she was ineligible for the program and that she misled the show’s producers.

….Fox; FremantleMedia, which produces American Idol for Fox; and 19 Entertainment, which is run by the show’s executive producer Simon Fuller, issued a collective statement on the singer’s behalf that reads: “Kelly Clarkson is not a ‘liar’ (or) a ‘cheat.’ She did not breach any rules of the competition. She won the American Idol competition fairly and was rightfully chosen by the American public as their American Idol.”

….The New York Post is owned by News Corp., the same company that owns Fox. [Launch]
