rivendellIn anticipation of the December 13th release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, a  Google Chrome Experiment allows you to enter the enchanted world of Middle-Earth through a visually breathtaking interactive map:

Using the map, you can explore several locations, such as Rivendell and Trollshaw Forest, with new locations to be added as the movie release date approaches. Each place on the map features a brief history, narration, and slides featuring the characters who inhabit it.

    Sadly I’ve not watched any of the Hobbit, as I’m waiting for all three movies to be released 😛 This will do nicely in the interim, however.
