Howard Stern

Howard Stern is the satellite radio personality and self-proclaimed "king of all media" best known as the host of The Howard Stern Show.

Beginning as a nationally syndicated "shock-jock," Stern's outrageous brand of radio pushes the medium to it's limit. Porn stars, midgets, and assorted misfits like Gary The Retard, Jeff The Drunk, and Beetlejiuce are a regular part of the mix, which once caused him to run into censorship problems — particularly after the FCC turned up the heat following Janet Jackson's infamous "Nipplegate" episode at the Super Bowl.

In typical fashion, Stern turned this potential disaster into a positive. Just when the FCC seemed ready to shut his microphone off for good, Stern took his terrestrial act to Sirius Satellite Radio, where he now broadcasts his daily show on two channels, which also bring the Howard News and Bubba The Love Sponge to listeners.

The Howard Stern Show's extended cast includes regular personalities like Robin Quivers (his straight woman and foil), producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate, and the perennially rehabbing Artie Lange.

Stern fans in the blogosphere are legendary in their devotion, blogging on articles like Siriusly Funny at Blogcritics, and at sites like Stern SuperFan, KOAM.com and The Howard Shrine.
