horses

Horses are scientifically described as Equus caballus, being one of the eight surviving species of the family Equidae. They were first domesticated by humans some time between 4,500BC and 2,000BC, probably in a number of places across Eurasia.

Most horses now living in the wild are descended from these, although one variety, Przewalksi's wild horse, now again roams in its native Mongolian habitat.

Bloggers write about their experiences as trainers of horses, as riders and drivers of horses in competition and for pleasure, about their regrets about not having a horse, and enjoy taking photos of them. They also enjoy watching Olympic and other international competitions.

Music Review: Sabine Devieilhe and Alexandre Tharaud – ‘Chanson D’Amour’

Devieilhe's vocal quality and interpretive sensibility suit these songs marvelously well, whether it's Fauré's grave melodicism, Debussy's gossamer textures and fringe weirdness, Ravel's hypnotic mysteries and childlike play, or Poulenc's lighthearted colors.
