Get Ready for what Sounds Like a Great Fringe November

During the month of November, Fox is bringing Fringe fans four all-new episodes, including episodes guest-starring real-life spouses Stephen Root and Romy Rosemount, acting together for the first time.

In the episode “Novation”, set to air on Friday 28 October, Fringe Division deals with the return of Peter Bishop, who just popped out of Reiden Lake in last week’s “Subject 9”. The situation further escalates when the new type of shapeshifters return. As the threat intensifies, former Massive Dynamic scientist, Malcolm Truss, portrayed by guest star Arye Gross, enters the fold. We get to see more of our favourite redhead as Nina Sharp pays Walter a visit in the lab. Seeing as how this timeline’s Walter and Nina have such a delightfully hateful relationship (remember how he called her a viper?), this encounter should prove to be quite the scene.

The following week, on Friday 4 November, Fox will air the episode “And Those We’ve Left Behind”. This is the episode in which real-life spouses Stephen Root and Romy Rosemount guest-star, marking the first time the accomplished duo have ever acted together. Fringe Division, helped by Raymond (portrayed by Root), an electrical engineer, and his wife, Kate (portrayed by Rosemont), a professor of theoretical physics, must find the pattern between tragic time loop anomalies..

In the following episode, “Wallflower”, set to air on 11 November, a man mysteriously dies by an invisible force, his body rapidly turning ghostly white. When Fringe Division learns that this is not an isolated incident, they uncover evidence that links the predator to someone who passed away with an unknown genetic disorder. Meanwhile, Olivia starts suffering from unexplained migraines.

 And on Friday 18 November, the Fall Finale of Fringe, “Back to Where You’ve Never Been”, Olivia and Lincoln Lee take drastic measures to deal with the looming threat from the shapeshifters, while helping Peter find his way home. Just to spice things up, something “over there” occurs that hasn’t happened since the universes were linked at the end of last season.

While I do love episodes that delve into the personalities of the characters in the world of Fringe, I am quite impatient to understand how Peter returned and to witness how the timeline will be restored – if ever it will be. I also hope to find out more about the Observers, as well as see more of the Alternate Universe. The Fringe production team has its work cut out for it: between two alternate universes and two parallel timelines, there is a lot more to be explored, now more than ever.
