Manchester, UK band Doves release follow up to 'Some Cities' and US/UK tour dates

Doves Announce N. American Kingdoms of Rust Tour Dates

Manchester, UK's Doves will release their first album in four years today and have already booked a short North American tour to promote it.

Kingdoms of Rust is the band's follow up to their critically acclaimed 2005 release Some Cities.  The band spent 18 months working on the record and bassist/vocalist Jimi Goodwin likened the process at times to being in "therapy."  The album's first track, "Jetstream," was briefly offered as a free download through the band's web site.  The band have shot a video for the title track and first single, "Kingdoms of Rust."

As for the tour, the band will be playing smaller venues on both coasts and across the northern part of the US and in to Canada.  They kick off the N. American leg of the tour in San Diego on May 14 before ending the tour in Boston on June 7.  The UK leg of the tour precedes the N. American leg and runs from April 15 in Cambridge through May 7 in Bristol.
