david archuleta

David Archuleta was the runner up to David Cook in the seventh season of American Idol, though he was considered to be the sure win by the judges and the show's teenage fan-base. He acquired 44 percent of the final votes.

Born December 28,1990, he had his first brush with a musical success in 2003 when he competed on Star Search. He won this completion, but was left with a paralyzed vocal chord. During his run on American Idol, David Archuleta, or rather his father became the subject of blogosphere chatter when it was revealed he encouraged his son to add a lyric from the song "Beautiful Girls" to the song "Stand by Me" which raised the licensing costs incurred by the show. His father was banned from rehearsals for the show after the incident.

David Archuleta's first post-Idol single, "Crush" was released August 12, 2008 and proceeded his first, self-titled album.
