Comment on Interview with Ines Temple, author of ‘You, Incorporated: Your Career Is Your Business’ by joemath https://blogcritics.org/interview-with-ines-temple-author-of-you-incorporated-your-career-is-your-business/#comment-11859 Thu, 13 Dec 2018 23:50:44 +0000 https://blogcritics.org/?p=5494372#comment-11859 The first question to resolve in any new venture is to discover what goods and services people actually need. The “Forever Stocks” are based upon this concept. Basics like paper towels, shaving supplies and soaps sell in virtually any economy including depressions. Once you get a handle on what people need-the next thing to do is to search inward to figure out what you do best, as well as, the things you enjoy most. It’s great to get paid for doing what you enjoy most. That way, work is merely an extension of leisure.

Comment on Why Consumers Are Increasingly Preferring Ethical Brands by joemath https://blogcritics.org/why-consumers-are-increasingly-preferring-ethical-brands/#comment-11856 Thu, 29 Nov 2018 23:20:12 +0000 https://blogcritics.org/?p=5493717#comment-11856 The most important thing any consumer can do is to read product levels carefully and perform your own due diligence.Climate change has to be more than just a phrase. In actual implementation, we should be moving ahead on “reflective technologies” in places like the North and South Poles. Research into cleaner energies must continue like solar, nuclear fusion, wind and wave technologies etc.

Recently, I noted that aspartame returned into the added ingredient list of popular sodas. Just a few years ago, aspartame wasn’t listed on the soda labels. The boldest dietary change consumers can make is to eat organic fruits/veggies in place of frozen, canned and generally non-nutritive food choices. Eating natural food products should help to lower non-specific c-reactive protein in blood tests, as well as, glucose improvement in the A1C blood test. Eating natural foods should help with the classic immune system disorders found in the gastrointestinal tract.

To clarify, the game is first to 9 points, and remember that KO’ing an enemy hero also moves the control token 2 spaces. Hope this helps speed things up!

Comment on Book Review: ’Leading Holistic Improvement with Lean Six Sigma 2.0’ by Ronald D Snee and Roger W Hoerl by joemath https://blogcritics.org/book-review-leading-holistic-improvement-with-lean-six-sigma-2-0-ronald-d-snee-roger-w-hoerl/#comment-11852 Wed, 26 Sep 2018 23:13:58 +0000 https://blogcritics.org/?p=5491917#comment-11852 Long before the Six Sigma methodology, there were others like the SEA or Systems Evaluation Approach. Essentially, the SEA set forth detailed flowcharts and work flow together with the accompanying process control points and sets of audit procedures to evaluate the internal accounting controls.

In statistics, there are probability functions like the Poisson Distribution which are employed to identify errors at varying confidence intervals. Although these distribution functions are helpful, they are not perfect. That’s why the notion of confidence intervals comes into play.

NASA knows that there is no such thing as perfection in designing space systems. This is the case because no set(s) of algorithms can quantify what happens when a spacecraft enters deep space. Once a craft is in deep space, there are lots of random events like sunspot activity, asteroids, potential phenomena like Planet X and even time warps.

As well, RUSH’s performance at the 2013 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony has never been officially uploaded on the organization’s YouTube channel. I guess they’re making up for it by including it on disc.

Comment on The Enduring Myth of Endless Summers by Victor Lana https://blogcritics.org/the-enduring-myth-of-endless-summers/#comment-11848 Mon, 03 Sep 2018 09:38:52 +0000 https://blogcritics.org/?p=5491316#comment-11848 Thanks for the comment, Joe. That was certainly a different era. The trolleys were gone when I was a kid, but in some places you could see the tracks peaking out from under the asphalt. I loved summer in the city using the subways to get everywhere and the free places were great like Bryant Park, Central Park, the Battery, etc. Used to go to the Met back then and just hang out there watching people as much as looking at art. Now that I have kids New York is harder but I like to bring them around to see things I loved. Summer is the best time for so many reasons, but as Shakespeare noted, “Summer’s lease hath all too short a date.”

Comment on Review: ‘Liars Leakers and Liberals’ by Judge Jeanine Pirro by joemath https://blogcritics.org/review-liars-leakers-liberals-judge-jeanine-pirro/#comment-11846 Mon, 03 Sep 2018 03:07:09 +0000 https://blogcritics.org/?p=5490437#comment-11846 The title of Judge Jeanine’s new book has the potential to alienate about 40-50% of the electorate, although the diehard conservatives will appreciate the contents. The author discusses the high points of the Trump Administration like the marginalization of ISIS, the rebuilding of the military, the robust growth of the GDP, the increased labor participation rate, efforts toward fairer trade and dwindling unemployment-just to mention a few of the things cited.

The author discusses the “deep state”, although no-one has ever defined the term authoritatively. The “deep state” could refer to a constituency of people who simply prefer “big government”. This book provides a clue as to the thinking of Judge Jeanine on a number of important societal issues. The book comes out at an important juncture because Judge Pirro could very possibly become the next Attorney General of the US.
