Blogcritics on NBC

Major Media Figure, cool guy, Detroit Free Press tech writer, and Blogcritic Mike Wendland is featuring Blogcritics on his NBC-TV High Tech Talk segment that goes out to all 215 affiliates tomorrow! The segment will be running at various times throughout the week on local newscasts.

Here’s part of the script:

This is the latest evolution of the Web and the Web log craze. Blogcritics describes itself as “sinister cabal of superior bloggers on music, books, film, popular culture, and technology – updated continuously.” It’s content really isn’t very sinister… except to those skewered by the Blogcritics reviews…. But it sure is deep.

The authors… mostly just Net-savvy fans of mass media and entertainment… offer their opinions and evaluations of new music releases or movies in surprisingly well-written posts that – because these are interactive blogs — are added to by readers, who in turn post their comments… thus making the information ever-expanding and very often provocative.

Nobody gets paid for any of this but Blogcritics is so current and so compelling and wrapped up in such a sense of community that Blogcritics editor Eric Olsen has a couple hundred regular posters who often have the latest information on pop culture and entertainment days before it shows up in traditional media.

Thanks to all our writers and supporters for making this possible, and thanks to Mike!!
