Audio Book Review – Infinite Crisis: Part II by Greg Cox, Based on the DC Comics Miniseries

Infinite Crisis was a seven-issue limited series of comic books published by DC Comics beginning in October 2005. It was written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Phil Jimenez. The series storyline was based on the 1985 series "Crisis on Infinite Earths" and it revisits characters and ideas that were from the earlier work.

Once again I was treated to a Graphic Audio performance that really brings you into the story. The combination of sound effects and artistic vocal performances creates what Graphic Audio calls a “Movie in your Mind” and that is truly what it is.

Infinite Crisis: Part II takes up where part one left off. The watchtower has been destroyed and Earth-One is deteriorating. Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman are all feuding with each other. Wonder Woman for killing Maxwell Lord, Batman for being paranoid and developing the out of control O.M.A.C project, and Superman for not being there when people need him most. On this Earth is a dark and cold place where people are distrusting.

We start off learning about the role that Superboy-Prime had in the destruction of the JLA Watchtower and that he and Alexander Luthor had been leaving "paradise" for some time to manipulate events to help create an inter-dimensional tuning fork in an attempt to restore Earth-two.

The questions are, what will happen when Alexander tries to create his "Perfect World?" Will the Earth-Two Lois' health be restored? Will Superboy-Prime be contained? What will happen to Brother Eye and the O.M.A.C.'s? Most of all, what will happen between Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the super hero's? I guess you will have to get the Graphic Audio program to find out!

The quality of the story and performance are the reason that I will be coming back to Graphic Audio products. You can also check out some of their other series as well. If you want you can down load of MP3 excerpt, or purchase the GraphicAudio Book from their on-line Store. The story comes three ways; standard CD (the version I reviewed), MP3 CD and downloadable WMA with digital rights management.
