Monday nights on ABC are sure to be a hit with Emily's Reason's Why Not, Jake In Progress, and The Bachelor, all premiering January 9.

ABC Debuts New Monday Night Line-up

Two hit shows and one sure-to-be-hit will fill out the Monday night line up on ABC in January. After the Monday Night Football season closes, Jake In Progress, the John Stamos comedy, is being paired with the brand new Emily’s Reason’s Why Not. The Bachelor (in Paris for this go-round) is also returning to round out the evening’s prime time line up.

The brand new Emily’s Reason’s Why Not features Heather Graham. Based on the best selling novel of the same name, the show is about a young woman who has all she wants in life thanks to her life plan that focuses on her “reasons.” She has reasons why not to take the new job, and reasons why not trust a people. Of course, the one place she’s lacking, and all the planning in the world can’t help, is her love life. The show also stars Nadia Dajani, Kharty Payton, and Smith Cho. Emily’s Reason’s Why Not premieres January 9 at 9:00.

Being paired with Emily is the returning Jake In Progress which will slide into the Monday’s 9:30 time slot, also on January 9. Slightly re-tooled, the show featuring John Stamos takes a look at relationships from the busy man’s point of view. Jake has firm control of every aspect of his life . . . everything but romance. Tired of the serial dating, he is looking for a soul mate, not an easy task for a busy career man. Jake’s friends and business associates, played by Ian Gomez, Rick Hoffman, and Wendie Malick, round out this ground breaking comedy with lots of humor and a nice amount of heartfelt sentiment. Joining the cast this season are Charlotte Ross and Dondre Whitfield.

The Bachelor is moving to Paris, and is also making a January 9, premiere. It will follow Jake In Progress (10pm). Dr. Travis Stork, a handsome 33-year-old ER doctor who is completing his residency at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville TN, is the eighth season’s “looking for love” bachelor. The change of venue should make for a beautiful backdrop if nothing else, and Paris definitely has many a romantic bistro for a getting to know you lunch. Will his approach to meeting 25 beautiful women work? Will it be entertaining? Time can only tell.

Also returning in January for new season is Dancing With the Stars. The show starts back up on January 5 at 8:00, with a new cast that includes George Hamilton, Tatum O’Neal, and Lisa Rinna, to name just a few.
