Lori has written for Adoptive Families magazine, for regional newspapers, and for the readers of her blog, Weebles Wobblog. With Crystal, her daughter’s birthmom, she teaches classes about how to build a child-centered open adoption.
Lori’s background is in adult education and academia, and she has taught social studies to middle- and high-school students. Lori earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Management, and is working on her M.O.M degree, which she hopes to complete successfully in two decades.
In 1995, Lori married the Best Husband in the Universe, who is now also the Best Dad in the Universe. Her daughter, Tessa, and her son, Reed, continue to test and teach her every day.
Lori spoke at Blogher08 about Adoption/Loss/Infertility (ALI) issues and she is a Contributing Editor at Bridges, an awareness consortium of compassionate bloggers. She is a regular columnist at Mile High Mamas, and she founded ColoBloggers for Colorado bloggers in the ALI community. She also writes for the American Fertility Association. She also dishes up sassy product reviews at All Thumbs Reviews.
Lori welcomes any questions or dialog about open adoption.
