LORETTA DILLON is a blogger, author and playwright. She began her writing career publishing a neighborhood newspaper and handwritten and illustrated books as a child in a Cleveland suburb. Because her strongest literary influences were MAD magazine and Mark Twain, she discovered a knack for writing song parodies and short plays to entertain her friends. This proved an amusing (but not terribly lucrative) past time.
Inevitably, when introduced to the internet, Dillon wrote and hosted a blog where she wrote over 1200 articles and has been a contributor to Blogcritics since 2005. Selected entries of Dillon’s coverage of the Laci Peterson murder case were published as a book in 2005, Stone Cold Guilty The People of California vs. Scott Lee Peterson, which was honored as a finalist for a non-fiction “Blooker” award.
Dillon's first play, "The Smoking Diary" premiered off-Broadway at the ATA Chernuchin Theater in New York City on July 30, 2009. She is currently working on another play.
