Francis Tapon he has traveled to over 80 countries, hiked across America 4 times, walked across Spain twice, backpacked over 12,500 miles in the mountains, and was a finalist in the California Outdoors Hall of Fame.
He’s the first to do a round-trip on the Continental Divide Trail (5,600 miles / 9,000 km). It was a 7 month journey.
He’s been covered in The New York Times Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, National Geographic Adventure and Backpacker Magazine.

He wrote "Hike Your Own Hike: 7 Life Lessons from Backpacking Across America." He is currently writing, "The Hidden Europe: What Eastern Europeans Can Teach Us."
Has a BA in Religion from Amherst College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
