I am founder and CEO of a software company located in Palo Alto, California, originally in Austin, Texas. Prior to starting the company, I worked for a number of technology companies in Austin. I've also held an appointment as a Research Scientist Associate at the University of Texas at Austin’s IC2 Institute, where I founded and lead the successful FKB Project, a two-year effort funded by Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technology Laboratories. I received a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009. My project was a hybrid that combined faculty from computer science, analytic philosophy, and computational linguistics. I also have an M.A. in Philosophy from UT and received a B.A. from Whitworth College (now Whitworth University), where I majored in Mathematics as well as Philosophy. As far as interests, I'm currently cranking through a stack of 20th Century American fiction classics (Hemingway, Fitzgerald, etc.). I have diverse scientific interests, including Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and issues regarding scientific prediction and modeling. I plant trees in my yard.
