In addition to his activities as a Blogcritics editor, Clavos has carved himself a niche as a self-employed used boat salesman in South Florida. He has lived abroad off and on since childhood, says he's fluent in Spanish and amuses waiters and cabdrivers with his Spanish-riddled Portuguese, Italian and French as well. Clavos is owned by a spoiled (is there any other kind?) black cat, and is an avid boating enthusiast. A former liveaboard who has been ashore for the past four years, he will again be moving aboard his ancient trawler, "Second Act," in the near future.
