Despite Kanye West ripping George Bush and many Republicans claiming they were closing their wallets, he still managed to raise 30 million dollars for Katrina victims.
George Bush is in a serious poll funk and hurricane Katrina is not likely to be a benefit to his popularity with the American people.

He has announced a new "Meet With Hiram" campaign targeting anti-Bush and anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan.
The Republican Party will have a serious demographic problem in the future if they don't capture a larger share of the minority vote than they do today, and they are desperately trying to "reach out" to minorities that traditionally vote Democratic.
Rather than show compassion and speak with Cindy Sheehan, Bush believes that another taxpayer-funded Iraq war PR campaign is the best way to drum flagging support.
Cindy Sheehan is purported to have said that if Israel pulls out of Palestine it will contribute to a reduction in terror. That sounds like a pretty reasonable statement to me.
