Leonardo DiCaprio’s publicist has announced that, “While leaving a small private gathering, Leo was attacked by a woman who was trespassing and had been repeatedly asked to leave the property. The attacker struck him with a glass object before being restrained by witnesses. The woman was reportedly looking for an ex-boyfriend, who she had apparently physically assaulted on prior occasions.”

The party was at Rick Salomon’s (Paris Hilton’s ex-boyfriend and notorious video partner) house in the Hollywood Hills, and reportedly around 4 a.m. the woman attempted to remove the movie star’s head with a beer bottle. Friends took him to the hospital where about a dozen stitches were required to close the wound near his ear.

DiCaprio is in Los Angeles during a break from filming the Martin Scorsese-directed The Departed in Boston and New York. The Departed is a remake of the Hong Kong crime film Infernal Affairs, with Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin and Mark Wahlberg, in addition to DiCaprio, who plays an undercover agent infiltrating the Irish mafia in Boston.

Consider the possibility that the incident was scripted, and not by someone’s English Lit teacher either. As example, perhaps the glass object represented a ‘magnifying glass’ — now review your literary references and allusions to determine just who is mis-using a telephone service.
