This week is kind of lame on the DSiWare and WiiWare services. Yes, I’ll say it upfront. It’s a regular smorgasbord of middle of the road-ness, with four DSi games and a WiiWare title that aren’t going to set the world on fire.

This week’s games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have All-Star Air Hockey (Skyworks Interactive, 1 player, 200 DSi Points), Mahjong (dtp young entertainment, 1-2 players, 200 DSi Points), myDiary (Nnooo, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) and 101 Dolphin Pets (Teyon, 1 player, 500 DSi Points).
All-Star Air Hockey is basic air hockey against AI players, Mahjong is … well, a basic mahjong title with a few power-ups thrown in (though why power-ups are needed in mahjong is an entirely different story), myDiary sees the return of those evil notebook/diary apps for the DSi, and 101 Dolphin Pets lets you keep up to 101 dolphins as pets. One of my dolphin-loving friends should be enjoying that one.

WiiWare has only one new title this week on the service: Magic Destiny (Shanblue Interactive, 1 player, 500 Wii Points). There’s also demos of Zombie Panic in Wonderland (Akaoni Studio, 1-2 players) and Racers’ Islands – Crazy Racers (Zallag, 1 player). Magic Destiny is all about fortune telling, with numerology, tarot cards, palmistry and astrology-themed minigames. Yes, on your Wii.

The Virtual Console takes a vacation at a rather inconvenient time for Wii owners. Man, we could use a good game or two this week …

Magic Destiny and the two demos are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while All-Star Air Hockey, Mahjong, myDiary and
101 Dolphin Pets are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
