Fans of Tron should be happy this week, as well as fans of artsy games on the Wii, because you get a little bit of both in the newest Art Style title. As for DSi owners, there’s a shoot ’em up, a poker game, and an interesting little puzzle title to play around with.

This week’s games are as follows:

On DSiWare this week, we have Metal Torrent (Nintendo, 1 player, 500 DSi Points), World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em (Hands-On Mobile, 1-6 players, 500 DSi Points), Real Crimes: Jack the Ripper (Virtual Playground, 1 player,800 DSi Points), and Advanced Circuits (BiP media, 1 player, 200 DSi Points). Metal Torrent is a vertical shooter from Nintendo with online leaderboards, of which we’ve seen a few lately. World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em is, you guessed it, a poker game, but this time with official poker tour branding. Exciting! Real Crimes: Jack the Ripper is a hidden object game where you apparently try to find the identity of the mysterious Jack the Ripper. Oh, if only Scotland Yard had a DSi back in the day! Advanced Circuits is an interesting game that involves setting down pieces of road to complete a track, but does so within a puzzle-style frame.

This week, WiiWare has three games: Art Style: Light Trax (Nintendo, 1 player, 600 Wii Points), Manic Monkey Mayhem (The Code Monkeys Ltd., 1-4 players, 800 Wii Points), and Viral Survival (NIS America, 1 player, 500 Wii Points). Art Style: Light Trax is not just the first Art Style game on the Wii in more than a year, it’s also got a Tron light cycle vibe to it as you race a beam of light against other beams of light across a bendy, twisty track. It’s simple in design, but looks very fun. Manic Monkey Mayhem is a multiplayer shooter that has you battling against trouble-causing monkeys. Or maybe they’re manic, since that’s in the title and all. Viral Survival is another interesting title, where players take control of DNA, dodging viruses and connecting with other strands of DNA to form longer chains, all while growing in power. Sounds like it could be what shoot ’em up fans might be looking for this week if they don’t own a DSi.

The Virtual Console takes another vacation this week. Kinda concerning because we have had several of these lately.

Art Style: Light Trax, Manic Monkey Mayhem, and Viral Survival are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Metal Torrent, World Poker Tour Texas Hold ‘Em, Real Crimes: Jack the Ripper, and Advanced Circuits are available for download off the DSi Shop Channel.

Check back next week for the latest round of digital releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!
